This year my Private Practice – PurpleCo – turns 10! I know wow 10 years old! #proudmumma
10 years ago, I had no clue about internet / online anything. I don’t think I was a FB user back then either. You see I was NOT and have not been an early adopter of technology.
However, in the first 12 months of my private practice I made more income – both pre-tax and post-tax earnings – than I have ever made in my life. And I was working with less client’s, so much so that it wasn’t very long before I brought on my first associate/consultant to help me out. What was this income? Well it was in excess of $250K pre-tax. YEP in 12 months.
I didn’t have a website. And I kinda knew what LinkedIn was, but I like so many people thought it was an online place to store your CV (its not).
And yes, I still grew a healthy, vibrant private practice doing the work I loved and doing it the way I loved to do it.
How? I turned my super power, my ability to build relationships, and started helping people understand who I was, who I served and how I helped. Little did I know I was creating a strong referral network.
This 1 marketing tactic continues to build my business. In fact, one of the original 5 from 10 years ago still send me referrals! It is by far the most lucrative marketing strategy I have ever used. I should know – I spent tens of thousands of dollars learning how to market online. My online marketing still hasn’t caught up to my referral network marketing in terms of income generation.
For the past 4 years I have been teaching and coaching client’s in this one tactic. I’ve created a 12 week training and coaching program called 5 Favourite People – networking that works.
I know that there is a lot of attention for your time and your money. However, I also know that if you are a health professional and you aren’t building yourself a referral network, then you are leaving money on the table. I don’t want that for you!
