I recently experienced something profound (yes, truly experienced, not just more head knowledge):

The antidote to stress isn’t more self-care activities. It’s not even different self-care activities.

NO.

The antidote to stress is patience.

Patience requires self-compassion. And self-compassion requires spaciousness and time.

Self-compassion doesn’t fit into the hustle culture timetable. You can’t turn self-compassion into a commodity like we’ve done with self-care.

If you, like I did, have turned self-care into just another checklist of tasks, believing you need to work harder at self-care to make it effective…

Here’s something uncomfortable: The answer isn’t more self-care.

The answer is creating a life of self-compassion.

Your responsibility is to learn how.

With much love
