Health professionals and their toxic money habits.

This month in UTEC, we are delving into our toxic money habits.

And this required me to be very vulnerable about my money history (vulnerability hangover much)!

What you may not know is that by 2002, as a single Mum in a FT job, I had gotten myself into so much credit card debt, that the banks were asking me questions about my capacity to pay what I owed.

I now know I had terrible money habits.

And this was not my fault because it was how I was conditioned.

And I did not know how to make money work for me.

The training session I delivered in UTEC this week was rather powerful.

And one of the things I shared was my observation of the toxic money habits that I see health professionals performing…

Such as:

  • Not knowing how much money you need to operate (ignoring the facts).
  • Not keeping up to date with what comes in and what goes out (the flow).
  • Overly optimistic thinking – i.e. next month will be better so I can spend big now.
  • Not paying your bills on time and expecting your clients to pay theirs on time (lack of congruence).
  • Not doing your taxes (this is called being an adult).
  • Combining personal and business money – just don’t.

If you are like me, then bringing awareness to their behaviour is one thing. Changing behaviour is quite another.

However, if you want to build a business that serves you, then you need to develop harmless money habits.

Which means you need to learn how to make your money work for you.

Are you ready to do this in an environment that is safe, where you can get your questions answered and where you can be supported to take the right action at the right time?

If you have answered YES, then you are ready to join UTEC – You, The Entrepreneurial Clinician.
