As I sit down to express my gratitude, I find myself navigating the labyrinth of memories that paved the way for Purple Co—a journey of inspiration that began with a seemingly ordinary phone call 12 years ago. Little did we know that amidst the humdrum of daily life and the rhythm of client appointments, the spark of Purple Co would be ignited.

Your understanding, Mum, transcended the ordinary. In the ebb and flow of our relationship, it was the moment you coined “Purple Co – The Purpose for People Company” that a tapestry of respect and admiration was woven between us. The resonance of that day echoes in the depth of my gratitude.

I recall your patient understanding of my teenage dreams, those whimsical aspirations to “change the world.” Back then, the path was uncertain, but your belief in my ability to bring about change never wavered.

The journey to reconcile my professional identity and self has been a rollercoaster, with self-discovery proving to be the most tumultuous ride. In those moments of struggle, your unwavering support provided the anchor I needed.

Your eagerness to be part of Purple Co, from learning the intricacies of bookkeeping to grasping the essence of a Rehabilitation Counsellor’s role, holds a special place in my heart. I remember the joy in sharing the success story of a client with profound disabilities finding new employment, witnessing the wonder in your eyes as you declared, “See my daughter, she made that happen.”

You, Mum, are the inspiration for women to be everything she aspires to be. Your lessons in empowerment and the determination that there is always a way have been my guiding lights.

Thank you for taking this journey with me, for standing by my side as we reached a stage where work is a choice, not a necessity. Together, we’ve impacted the lives of countless health professionals worldwide, contributing to a healing ripple effect that echoes the change we yearn to see in the world.
